Session Overview:

Do you ever wonder how to celebrate National School Counseling Week with your students, faculty, and staff? Discover fun activities and school-wide contests that teach students the value of empathy, kindness, self-care, mindfulness, and gratitude by asking them to Channel Their Inner School Counselor.

A School Counselor’s role is a mystery for most students, faculty, and staff. This presentation will teach school counselors how to define their role for a broader audience, increase awareness of a School Counselor’s role, and teach students positive coping mechanisms, skills, and strategies. Additionally, this presentation demonstrates that National School Counseling Week does not have to be about serving others but allowing others to Channel Their Inner School Counselor to make their community and school better.

Speaker: Ashley Price

Mrs. Ashley Price has the pleasure of being an advocate for students. She has served students for ten years in public school settings, as a teacher, and as a school counselor. She strives to implement innovative practices to help each of her students become contributing global citizens. Mrs. Price believes in the power of using multiple forms of literacy to enhance students’ lives with a wealth of exposure. The exposure will help students learn numerous lessons and skills such as empathy, resiliency, regulating emotions, and self-confidence. Her counseling philosophy framework comprises both Strengths-Based and Solution Focused. Mrs. Price seeks to inspire students by helping them identify their strengths from within to help them meet the goals they seek to achieve.
