Hatching Results for Elementary School Counseling

This institute will be led by the authors of Hatching Results for Elementary School Counseling: Implementing Core Curriculum & Other Tier One Activities (Hatch, Duarte, & De Gregorio, 2018) and Hatching Tier Two and Three Interventions In Your Elementary School Counseling Program (Hatch, Kruger, Pablo, & Triplett, 2019). Throughout the event, we will highlight different sections of each book in an effort to determine how we might shift our practices to better service students and families through our comprehensive school counseling programs. In addition, experts in the elementary school counseling field will present best practices in the areas of social/emotional learning, data analysis, mental health, mitigating learning loss during the pandemic, utilizing a trauma-informed lens, and more! Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussion and collaboration with other elementary school counselors from across the nation as they work to improve their own comprehensive school counseling programs.

The purpose of the Elementary School Counseling Institute–We’re In This Together: Hatching Your Elementary School Counseling Program is to provide a unique professional development opportunity specifically targeting the needs of elementary school counselors. Best-selling authors and experts in the field of elementary school counseling will provide participants with a detailed overview of the use of a Multi-Tiered, Multi-Domain System of Supports (MTSS) framework to create an equitable, effective, efficient, and sustainable comprehensive school counseling program that supports elementary students’ academic, social/emotional, and college and career development. This dynamic, two-day virtual event will allow elementary school counselors (PK-6) from across the nation to learn and share best-practices, take away relevant and meaningful resources and build a network of peers that can continue to support one another.
