Ahead of the discussion, please consider the following questions:
 
1) Why is it important to “recession-proof” your school counseling program right now?

2) How can school counselors prove their indispensability during this global crisis?

3) What strategies can school counselors implement now and during re-entry to support the social-emotional needs of students?
Lisa De Gregorio is the Director of Operations, National School Counseling Leadership Conference Coordinator, and Professional Development Specialist for Hatching Results. She spent more than six years at the CPS district office as Lead K-8 Counselor. Lisa is the co-author of the text Hatching Results for Elementary School Counseling: Implementing Core Curriculum and Other Tier One Activities (2018). 
 
Kirsten Perry is a Social-Emotional Learning Specialist for CPS serving 29 schools in the Englewood and Auburn-Gresham neighborhoods. She also serves as the President-Elect for the Illinois School Counselor Association (ISCA). Kirsten was named the National School Counselor of the Year by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) in 2018 for her work at Lawndale Community Academy.
