School Counselors as Leaders in Crisis Response
Event Details
Effective crisis response is a growing concern as schools recognize a need to address students’ social/emotional development in the face of trauma. After a school year marked by multiple incidents of serious violence and tragedy at the school and in the community, school counselors in St. Paul Public Schools collaborated to develop a tiered system of support to help students, staff and families cope with these events. As leaders with critical relationships, the school counselors were able to develop a team approach across district, building and community partners. Learn from these experiences, walk away with resources and leave more confident to support your school communities through crises.
