GSCA 2020 Conference - Canceled

August 20, 2020
Dear GSCA Community,
As you know, our GSCA 2020 Savannah conference is scheduled for November 11-13 and we have a stellar group of confirmed presenters, exhibits and other planned events. We have been very eager to meet you in person in Savannah and enjoy a wonderful conference together.
However, it is now clear to GSCA that this conference is impossible to hold due to COVID-19. The coronavirus has severely altered professional and individual lives. GSCA has monitored the developing situation and has determined that the conference can no longer be held as scheduled and agreed-upon because of this virus and its effects. Spacing/distancing guidelines in place render the Hyatt Hotel unable to accommodate our conference space needs.
Therefore, the GSCA Executive Board has decided unanimously to cancel the face-to-face conference in Savannah and the 2020 Conference team is currently researching alternatives to bring us all together virtually in the first quarter of 2021. We feel that this decision is our only option given current constraints in Savannah and is, furthermore, in the best interest of our Association, our members and our conference attendees.
If you have made hotel reservations at the Hyatt Regency Savannah, the hotel will cancel your reservation on your behalf. If you have registered already for the conference, you will be refunded in full by September 18.
On behalf of the GSCA Conference Planning Team and the GSCA Executive Board, I would like to thank you for your understanding of this very difficult decision.
We will continue to give you updates as soon as we are able to. Finally, we wish you well as you navigate these challenging times in your personal and professional lives.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Jones
GSCA President
